Landing Ports

With the stunning golden glow of the majestic sandstone cliffs to the east and the shimmering radiance of Golden Cap to the west, West Bay, Dorset is the Golden Gateway to the Jurassic Coast. Fishing at West Bay has been a historical trade through the centuries. Day boats can still be seen unloading their catch at the harbour side on a daily basis.

Lyme Regis is a historic unspoiled seaside resort and fishing port on the world famous Cobb harbour. Surrounded by beautiful coastlines and countryside, the area has now been awarded World Heritage Site Status; famous for its geology and fossil finds.

Brixham is situated in South Devon`s beautiful Tor Bay on the English Riviera; the bay consists of Torquay, Paignton and Brixham. Renowned for its established fishing port, Brixham's port has one of the largest fishing fleets in the United Kingdom. The fresh catch is sold in the Fish Markets located on the quayside.

Plymouth fish market is situated on the Marina, on Sutton Harbour offers fresh local fish. Plymouth fish market is run by an electronic fish auction, this is a gallery type auction, where buyers view the fish first, make notes and then move to a separate bidding room for the electronic auction, well away from the chilled market floor.

Looe is the stunningly beautiful fishing port on the south coast of Cornwall, with day boats landing some prime fish from Red Mullet, Black Bream, Live Lobsters and Crabs. Just down the road is our Mussel supplier; Westcountry Mussels of Fowey Limited is based in Fowey, Cornwall, and is the original “Fowey” Mussel. Rope Grown Mussels, from both the Fowey and Falmouth Estuaries, are accompanied by the supply of wild Mussels, wild Cockles, farmed Oysters and Clams.

Penzance, Newlyn is part of Mounts Bay coast line in the far south west of the country. Once home to the largest fleet of vessels, Newlyn is now a quiet traditional Cornish town. With more vessels landing at Brixham & Plymouth, there are fewer vessels in the harbour. However, we still get some fantastic fish coming in from day boats who boast some of the freshest landings across the coast.
